House panel recommends 3 for further investigation - Trying to
distract attention from the Rangel and Waters cases? Why didn't
they investigate Melissa Bean, who has raised roughly $600,000 from the
financial services industry in this election cycle and pushed for some
major changes to benefit large banks? It may have been strictly
legal, but it stinks ethically. Her former chief of staff also
left to become a lobbyist, working on influencing the other committee
members. Wasn't this the administration and House that was going to put
a stop to that sort of "revolving door"? Instead, the ends justify all
means with this crowd. |

Dem House Strategy: Go Negative Early - Trying to shift the
focus away from national policy failures to personal smear attacks on
individual Republican candidates. Clearly they will say or
do anything to retain power. What ever happened to honorable
public service? The "end justifies the means" mentality of
political victory at any price is a progressive abomination. |

Democrats hold financial advantage over GOP
Democrats hold financial advantage over GOP - later version with
updated details
Money can't buy them love. Note that the RNC and NRCC,
unlike the Dems, may face the challenge of voters not wanting to give to
national organizations. Instead, they may be favoring specific local
candidates who they trust. By contrast, the Dems are appealing for
national power by consolidating money at the top and doling it out to
the loyal cronies who they think can sustain their agenda in DC. Anyone
else is thrown under the bus. Thus, it's not really about what the Dem
voters want, as shown by the rare primary fights. They anoint whoever
they think will defend their grip on power. RINOs made the mistake of
copying that tactic, and now fewer individual donors trust the national
leadership. |

GOP lawmaker with BP stock has role in spill probe - What a
remarkable coincidence. A day after Rahm Emanuel is criticized for
living rent-free in Washington DC in a home provided by a BP consultant,
a GOP member of Congress is attacked for owning BP stock.
Is anybody going to stand up for the BP shareholders against the
government attacks on this company? Yes, BP bears responsibility for the
disaster in the Gulf, but that doesn't justify the government trying to
drive them out of business by threats of prosecution, new taxes,
restrictions on payment of dividends, etc.
Does anybody remember how Arthur Andersen was driven
out of business through criminal charges which were later dismissed? The
threat of criminal prosecution can basically destroy the value of a
company and drive it out of business. This is bureaucratic tyranny,
rather than accountability. |

PA-12: A template for Democrats in November election? -
Interesting article from the Christian Science Monitor. See the
"lessons learned", but keep in mind that Critz won by 53%-45% in a district which is reportedly 2/3 Democratic. The
split was 70,867 D and 60,653 R, so the spread was only about 10,000
votes. This setback can still be reversed in November through hard
campaign work. After all, Critz won't be able to keep pretending to be a
moderate or conservative once he returns to the House. He can't
run away from Obama-Pelosi until November because they're going to need
his vote to keep pushing their radical agenda forward while they can. |

CPAC news. Once
again, the AP's Sidoti is pushing the same narrative as usual about

primaries, rather than no choice for voters because of deals among the
party insiders, is a healthy change. Unchallenged rule by liberal
incumbents is not a good thing. |

Review: Sarah Palin's "Going Rogue" - Comment: It is time
to start the volunteer work and fundraising to defeat everyone who voted
for the "health reform" legislation and other recent atrocities. We need
solid primary challengers in every district, and the organization to
ensure their victory in November. That is the new mission of the 912

to be incapable of getting organized and keeps pushing RINOs at us. |

April 1, 2009 - Lawmakers sent huge petition backing Obama budget -
Comment: How timely, on April Fool's Day, as Congress prepares
to ram through the budget with major new programs while using rules
which prevent a filibuster in the Senate. This petition of 642,000
supporters (as valid as ACORN voter registrations?) is the product of
the recent Organizing for America
push by Obama supporters, using his 12+ million campaign e-mail list and
volunteers to gather "pledges" of support (without any significant
details about the budget which they were supporting).
Actually, it turns out that
the 642,000 figure actually represents 3 copies - from 214,000 people to
their 2 senators and 1 House member. Compare that to the
Tax Day Tea Party crowd
turnout.
Let's see. In November
Obama got 66+ million votes. He got 1% of them to sign his budget
petition. Why is the AP so impressed by this latest stunt, but
completely ignores the Tea Party
movement? Do we really need to have 1 million protesters
nationwide on April 15 before they will take this seriously?
Here's another way of looking
at it. Mark Levin launched his new book,
Liberty and Tyranny, at roughly the same
time as the Obama pledge drive. It already sold 700,000
copies- without being promoted through any of the liberal TV networks or
newspapers (just Fox News and talk radio). Which is more
impressive? Getting people to sign a vague petition, or to buy a
book about conservative values? |

March 20, 2009 - DNC raises only $3.2 million in February - Comment:
Their efforts to demonize Rush Limbaugh also failed miserably, with a
pathetic 80,000 responses to their highly publicized free competition
(March 10) to suggest a slogan for an
attack billboard near his home in Florida.
Is this the best the DNC can
do after Obama got 65 million votes 4 months ago, even with his highly
touted database of 13+ million emails? Besides, some of the
responses may have been pro-Rush. Maybe even Democrats favor a
serious focus on important issues - or is it buyers remorse already? |
|
March 5, 2009 - Rudderless Republicans court radio king - Comment:
