Companies routinely manage to cut their payrolls when their revenues
decline. Are we really supposed to believe that all 200,000 affected
state workers are essential? Would severance costs be so high, and the
cuts in services so drastic, that California taxpayers would object?
There will certainly be interest groups which oppose any program cuts in
their favored areas, but if taxpayers aren't willing to pay for the
services, then they aren't really essential at this time even if
somebody thought they were a good idea at some time in the past when the
state economy was healthier.

sycophants in the liberal media won't even seriously pretend to be
unbiased in this race. Luckily, Californians are now so networked
